Finally, she comes together. Gets her wiring, fuel system, exhaust system, remote oil filter, etc.
Mocked up the X-pipe section under the car and then fully welded.
I'm pretty happy with the fit up, tucked up pretty tight to the underbody.
The only part of the exhaust that I didn't weld, the muffler attachments. Used SS band clamps here just in case of a desire to change mufflers in the future.
As with the entire exhaust system, the tailpipe sections had to be cut, modified, and welded to tuck up nice.
Well in 66 they didn't anticipate long tube headers with the original clutch linkage. So, a few choice words along with some modifications and welding and now she works.
The Wix 51258 required by Butler didn't want to fit with these long tube headers. So I got a Billet Aluminum Butler Bypass plate and fabricated a boat style oil filter relocation mount.
Fully disassembled the convertible top mechanisms, weld repaired the rusty areas, and sprayed with POR15.
Mechanism now fully installed with new hydraulic cylinders, and adjusted properly? Hum.
